In Which Scene and Plot May Vary From the Movie You Actually Think You Saw
In Which Scene and Plot May Vary From the Movie You Actually Think You Saw
by Helen Losse
White wine is refreshing,
sparkling—clear—
dinner tasty. It urges them on.
Johnny Depp & Angelina Jolie
boat through a canal
on Venetian-black water.
A diamond necklace
compliments her gown.
A manic chase
past rippling moon-shadows
kicks up a gondola-spray—
a pirouette of strings—
concerto of wood winds,
gunfire & bloodshed,
thieves & intrigue.
Scene and plot may vary
from what you actually think
you saw, the waltzing finale
starring a lone white crane.
-refers from the line “The white crane spread its wings” in Clare Martin’s essay The White Crane
