New Article and AWP
This week we are thinking all about the craft of writing as both editors plan to head to the AWP conference in Boston! To begin that conversation this week’s piece is an article about titles from regular contributor Stacy Post titled Title Work: This is Not About Your Mortgage . . . Or Maybe It Is. It refers from the word title in Jessica Patient’s story The Department of Extinct Objects – Case Number 1985. The article also mentions quite a few other pieces published here. We are keeping the referring going!
Speaking of AWP. Jessie and Andrea will both be there. We will be scurrying around. We will also try to tweet and update Facebook when we can. One of Jessie’s publishers, Folded Word, has awesomely supplied Jessie with 6 copies of her first book Paper House to give away! That’s right. If you see Jessie and ask her about it, and she still has them, she will give you one. She’d love you to take a picture with her, the book or something and send it around tagging @foldedword, @refermag, and/or @jessiepoet. If the books run out she also has some postcards that have a free e-book offer!
Jessie will be moderating a panel called “Stranger in a Strange Land? The Poet in the Composition Classroom” which will take place on Friday at 3pm. Jessie is also reading with other Sibling Rivalry Press authors between 5 and 6pm at an Offsite event Thursday night. She may also be filling in Friday morning at the Sibling Rivalry table where she can sign copies of her chapbook Fat Girl.
It is a writing week! Even if you aren’t at AWP, think writing 🙂
