Tires Win

Tires Win

By Debbie Feller

A clear plastic bag
rolls alongside the road
spit out from under
rubber tires
to cover
an aluminum can
the recyclable version
of rock, paper, scissors.

-refers to/from the word “cover” in Cory Funk’s poem Painting Day

  1. Sweet! Love this poem, Debbie! Will never look at a plastic bag flying up along the road the same way again 🙂

  2. Thanks Rose! You are so kind to me and my poems about garbage. 🙂

  3. Thank you, Jessie, for taking this one!

  4. Debbie, I LOVE poems about garbage!

  5. If we can’t write about garbage (and write garbage from time to time! ah those first drafts) then why bother writing 🙂 Thanks for sharing it with us, Debbie!

  6. Clever little poem, Debbie! I, too, will never look at plastic bags the same way again. 😉 “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” and your poem certainly “recycled” itself well!

  7. Andrea, I loved your comment . . .thank you! 🙂

  8. Debbie, I read this a long time ago and didn’t even realize it was you! But I remember thinking: Brilliant!

  9. Thank you, Val! You are way kind and encouraging to me! 🙂
