We had a lot of great submissions during our last Featured reading period, and we are pleased to present our newest featured writer: Stephen S. Mills. His three featured poems are available via his contributor page. Enjoy! Maybe you’ll find something in these poems (or other items on our site) to refer from/to? We should open for referred submissions again in the near future. Have a great week!

New Interview and Reading Period

We have two good bits of news for you today.

1 – A new interview/review/conversation between regular contributors Justin Hamm and Joel Peckham about Joel’s memoir Resisting Elegy is now up.

2 – We have opened another featured reading period. Check out our guidelines about how and when to submit. We are, as always, open year round for regular submissions.

Featured Fiction

It is very fitting that as the college spring semesters come to a close that I’d be posting the last featured piece accepted with the help of our Spring 2012 interns who were all students! Today we present Kill Me with Chocolate by Frank Scozzari

New Featured Poet

During our last open reading period we selected a poet, fiction writer, and non-fiction writer as featured writers which means their work does not refer from anything else on the site. We hope, however, that people will start referring from these pieces very soon! Our poet is Kristin Berkey-Abbott. We bring you five of her poems today:

First Feature of 2012

We have three featured (non-referred items) that were selected during our last featured reading period, in part, by our Spring 2012 Interns. The first one to go up is the essay My Life as a Cactus by Allie Marini Batts. Thanks, Allie!
